Amy was so responsive, trustworthy, and thorough. As first time home buyers, we were clueless coming in to the process. Amy explained everything so well, and helped us every step of the way. My girlfriend and I starting casually looking for our first home in the Fall of 2013. I didn’t see the advantage to having a real estate agent and felt we could handle the search on our own. We met Amy after inquiring about a house that Firefly Real Estate was selling. Amy was extremely nice, never pushed us to sign a contract and offered to set us up to receive automatic MLS listing emails based on our criteria. Once we saw a couple more houses with Amy we knew she was someone we wanted to sign a contract with.

The seller played a bunch of games, declined our offer and took the house off the market to rent it instead. When we decided to relocate to Wauwatosa, our friends suggested we talk to Amy Standal at Firefly. We were only somewhat aware of Firefly’s presence in Wauwatosa, but were immediately impressed with the online reviews and reports from other people who had bought and sold with them.

Our search started in early spring of 2014, and we gave Amy a very short list for what we wanted. To make matters more complicated, we lived almost 45 minutes outside of the Wauwatosa area. It was difficult to run up and see houses on a whim—especially during the frantic spring market. Amy was so patient with us! She answered many an exasperated phone call when a house we wanted to see sold in a week. Amy also did a great job of reminding us of our must-haves, while simultaneously encouraging us to be flexible in other areas.

When we did finally find a house we could see ourselves living in, we had no idea how the negotiations would work. We didn’t entirely understand the process, but Amy never made us feel inferior for asking so many questions or making mistakes. She patiently listened to our concerns (one of us had more concerns than the other), and always offered her expertise, experience, and guidance. It became so obvious that Amy wanted us to feel good about our purchase, and she really protected us through some of the unsavory parts of the transaction.
